Does running a printed sheet through a laser printer again damaging to the drum?

All right. So lets say that a printer doesnt have automatic duplex printing. So I print on one side, turn it around, and feed it in again. Wouldnt the toner stick the drum, damaging it? Or is it safe to feed the paper through again?
